About Us

Ming Yi Tang Excellence TCM Centre was founded in March 28 of 2010. Our centre's senior practitioners and registered acupuncturists, Dr. Shang Minghua and R.Ac.Zhou Junqing (former Chief Dctor of TCM in China) bring forth a wealth of nearly 4 decades of accumulated clinical experience working in the acupuncture industry.

Our Doctors

Shang, Minghua

Dr. Shang, Minghua, Registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Former Associate Professor, Director of Acupuncture Department of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Dr. Shang graduated at the top of his class from Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1985. From September of 1987 to June of 1990, under the tutelage of the Chinese Society of Clinical Acupuncture Research director Professor Yang Zhangsen, Dr. Shang received his Master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. From September of 1993 to June of 1997, under the tutelage of world leading authority on acupuncture, the first to fifth edition of "针灸学" editor Professor Qiu Maoliang, Dr Shang received his MD. Dr. Shang has hosted and presented numerous medical topics at provincial and municipal conferences as well as published many medical journals in dozens of national Chinese magazines.As editor of 《针灸防治老年病》、《腧穴学》、《袖珍针灸取穴图解》(汉英对照)、《中国针灸穴位图谱》、《实用穴位疗法》、《手足部针灸疗法》, Dr. Shang was nominated twice for Jiangsu province's '青篮工程', as well as received an excellence speaker award from Nanjing University for his advance research. From October of 2001 to December of 2002, Dr. Shang was invited as a visiting scholar to Germany, teaching Chinese medicine and his medical research. From January of 2003 to now, Dr. Shang works full time at Vancouver Central College of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a senior professor and internship instructor.

Zhou, Junqing

R.Ac.Zhou, Junqing (Former Chief Doctor of TCM in China).

R.Ac.Zhou,Junqing ( former Chief Doctor of TCM in China), had been working in the Acupuncture Department of the Affiliated Drum Tower Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School for around 40 years. She had taught Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion in the Nanjing University and the International Education College of Nanjing University of TCM, she had instructed interns who came from various parts of the world. The experience she gained as a faculty in medical schools and the affiliated hospitals contributed to her expertise in both teaching and the clinical practice of TCM.

In addition to her clinical and teaching success, Zhou is one of the main researchers of two studies supported by the foundation of Jiangsu Province and Nanjing City government respectively. Furthermore, she was on the editorial board of the Press of Modern Chinese Medicine, and she also participated in the composition and publication of several books, such as “The Atlas of Chinese Acupoints”, “The Practical Therapy by Stimulate Acupoints”, and “Acupuncture on the Hand and Foot”. On top of that, she has published dozens of thesis concerning acupuncture and moxibustion in the TCM journals.As an experienced and skillful former Chief Doctor of TCM (in China), Zhou excels in treating various aches. She can often improve the conditions of acute diseases or pain such as dysmenorrheal, epigastric pain caused by stomach spasm, stiffness neck, acute lower back pain caused by sprain, conjunctivitis, retention of urine after surgery, abdominal distention, and stubborn hiccup with one acupuncture treatment. Furthermore, her unique experience with treatment of protrusion of intervertebral disc, ankylosing spondylitis, degenerative arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, fifty-year shoulder, neuralgia, neurasthenia, facial paralysis, insomnia, dysfunction of gastrointestines, chronic atrophic gastritis, sequel by apoplexy, herpes zoster, alopecia areata, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, compromised immune system, hindrance in blood circulation, allergic rhinitis, urticaria, chronic tracheitis, quit smoking, obesity and chloasma infantile cerebral palsy, infantile nocturnal enuresis, myopia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with needles.
